● In 2024, AirTAC's energy intensity (energy consumption per NT$1 million in sales) was 31.45, a 16% reduction from 2021.
Target:
Reduce greenhouse gas intensity by 40% compared with 2021.
● Reduce GHG intensity by 55% compared with 2021, and achieve a share of renewable energy exceeding 30%.
● Conduct Scope 3 carbon emissions assessments, including GHG emissions from purchased goods and services, as well as from the use of sold products, in the reduction plan.
Achieve net-zero emissions across the entire value chain.
Strategies:
● Improve energy efficiency by phasing out low-efficiency equipment and optimizing production processes.
● Install additional solar power generation facilities within the plants to increase the share of renewable energy.
● Build energy storage systems to prevent energy wastage.
● Continuously improve energy efficiency.
● Increase the share of renewable energy through the purchase of renewable energy and renewable energy certificates (RECs).
● Actively develop low-carbon products.
● The Company plans to complete the Scope 3 emissions inventory and disclosure for 2029 by 2030.
GHG Emissions
I.Scope 1 and Scope 2 Emissions in 2024:
In 2024, the verified greenhouse gas emissions show that Scope 1 emissions were 18,192 tons CO2e, accounting for 16% of total emissions, while Scope 2 emissions were 97,728 tons CO2e, accounting for 84% of total emissions. The majority of emissions came from Scope 2, primarily from purchased electricity. Going forward, the Company will increase the share of renewable energy usage as its main carbon-reduction strategy. Total greenhouse gas emissions (Scope 1 and Scope 2 combined) in 2024 decreased by 15.5% compared to 2021.

● Scope 1 (Direct Emissions) –Includes CO2, CH4, N2O, and HFCs, covering four types of greenhouse gases. It does not involve the emission of SF6, PFC, or NF3. The emissions are primarily based on the 'GHG Protocol' greenhouse gas accounting system and calculated using the Global Warming Potential (GWP) values from the Sixth Assessment Report by the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC). In 2023, with the assistance of external consultants, a comprehensive audit was conducted, and greenhouse gas emissions from additional sources such as portable fire extinguishers, septic tanks, rust remover lubricants, and air conditioning systems were included.
● Scope 2(Indirect Emissions) –Includes purchased electricity and is calculated based on the average grid emission factors for the region where the operating company is located, i.e., Location-based.
II.Scope 3 Emissions in 2024:
In 2024, greenhouse gas emissions under Scope 3, C3 – Upstream energy- and fuel-related activities amounted to 27,587.6 metric tons of carbon dioxide equivalent(tCO2e)
● Scope 3 emissions are assessed in accordance with the GHG Protocol and disclose the results cover emissions from "Category 3 (C3)- fuel- and energy-related activities not included in Scope 1 or Scpoe 2 greenhouse gas emissions".
● The data coverage is consistent with the boundary of the 2024 Sustainability Report, including AirTAC Taiwan, AirTAC Ningbo, AirTAC Guangdong, and AirTAC China. AirTAC China refers collectively to Airtac (China) Co., Ltd., Airtac (Jiangsu) Automatic Co., Ltd., Guangdong Airtac Intelligent Equipment Co., Ltd., Airtac (Tianjin) Intelligent Technology Co., Ltd., Airtac (Fujian) Intelligent Equipment Co. Ltd., and Airtac (Shandong) Automatic Co., Ltd.
● At the current stage, the Company’s Scope 3 inventory implementation prioritizes categories with clear methodologies, higher data availability, and direct relevance to the Company's energy use activities. Accordingly, Category 3 (C3) emissions were inventoried and disclosed as a priority. The Company will gradually expand the Scope 3 inventory to include additional categories in the future.
Energy Saving Program
In 2024, the Company invested NT$49.53 million to acquire new air compressors and implement an additional air compressor centralized control system. This investment is expected to save approximately 11.49 million kWh of electricity annually, equivalent to a reduction of about 5,872 tons of CO2e, and is projected to reduce annual electricity costs by approximately NT$40.15 million.
An additional NT$13.13 million was invested in energy-saving and consumption-reduction projects, including the modification of vulcanizing machine heating plates, improvement of six-axis machine cooling oil, adjustment of air-conditioning chillers, and process optimizations. These measures are expected to save approximately 2.21 million kWh of electricity annually, equivalent to a reduction of about 1,068 tons of CO2e, and are projected to reduce annual electricity costs by approximately NT$9.24 million.
